What "package" did you buy?
What did you get with it (hardware & software & drivers)?
Did you expect to hit-the-ground-running with some sort of RAD development
software?
What is your level of programming experience (ie, are you capable of working
at the port/register level for hardware access)?
What PC platform (hardware, OS, language) will you be developing on?
Running on?
Is this for in-house use or for resale?
Would you consider using bootleg Labview?
Why not just return the package to NI?

Okay a different kind of PC hardware question. My company just got
screwed over pretty good by National Instruments. Basically we bought
a package and surprise! The software is incompatible with the
hardware. The incompatibility does not appear on the webpage nor did
the sales 'engineer' mention it.

So, short of rewarding their incompetence by buying labview or
something else, I'd like to find out if there is third party/free
software out there that can collect data from an NI Daq card,
specifically the NI-5911.

Anyone know of anything?

Thanks....Steve
