Nope - flash memory isn't ferromagnetic.

Not much you can do from the outside except "cook' the silicon with ionizing
radiation ( gamma, I think). Maybe you know someone who'll let you stick it
in an X-ray machine. I don't think I'd guarantee the results though.

I am sending back a 2GB USB flash drive for warranty replacement. I
know what is wrong. The USB plug wasn't very secure to start with and
now it is loose enough not to make a connection. So you plug it in
now and nothing happens.

  There isn't anything unencrypted that is on the drive, but I would
feel better if I could purge it. Suppose I put it between two 8LB
earth magnates for a couple of hours... would that do it?
