Pretty much most of what he went over is true. But, I would not try a lot of this at home. If your data is important I would suggest not taking it apart.
Although, The SA Area Position he explained is not 100% as he said. Hitachi Global Storage Tech has it in the Mid area on the platter. Also, on a live PCB Board swap, if you have been working with the hard drive, the bad sectors from the new hd are bad on the old. So you will never get an exact match. So there is a lot of holes in the presentation, but it's a very well put together and informative presentation.
