I looked over some of the tests on: http://www23.tomshardware.com/cpu_2007.html
I'm truly wondering how noticeable to a user though the disparity would be. Right now they (e6850 & q6600) are the same price. The person I am building for is not much of an upgrader. I'm only going from his past history. Within his budget I'm aiming for the best we can afford now that might stretch its legs for him in the future. I understand that software isn't really doing much with multiple cores yet, although some say you do get SOMETHING more out of it. I read recently that if you are using Microsoft's flight simulator more cores can be advantageous since their SP1. There have been some tests there that show a slight improvement with more cores. But this user isn't a flight simmer LOL. On Jan 1, 2008 11:56 AM, Anthony Q.
