Harry,

IN the Storagereview article they said WDC was going to make a version of the 
drive with the SATA connectors in the correct placement. Also, WDC could just 
replace the Icepak 3.5" Part and use something different.  WDC will lose a 
large part of the community with the current build of the Velociraptor.  

I myself think the drive will work great for the gaming machines.  It's fast, 
quiet, cool and low of power.  I am also thinking if any notebooks will get 
this drive, but most of those are going for SSDD hard drives.

Western Digital made a fatal mistake, which will keep me from using many 
of these drives.

The drive is a 2.5" drive in a heatsink.  Instead of putting the drive 
in the middle, and using an extension cable set to put the SATA and SATA 
power connectors in the "correct" location, they put the drive at the 
back.  This means that I can't use the drive in a sata/sas hot swap unit.
