I actually need both. I work from home so my main PC is a big deal to me. But I also travel on average once a month for at least a few days (sometimes for up to two weeks at a time) so I need a laptop as well. I'm currently using an HP NC6000 Centrino/Pentium-M laptop I got used off eBay, and while it's still going strong I need something a bit beefier and definitely lighter.
I do not really care about gaming on a laptop (outside of maybe the occasional Civ game) so performance isn't really an issue. Of importance to me in features for a laptop are: - travel weight (3-5 lbs ideal) - good battery life (at least 3-4 hours) - 802.11n and bluetooth - media card reader - LED backlight display less than 15", prefer widescreen display (easier to use in coach class) - TPM, fingerprint scanner would be nice (but not necessary) - webcam/microphone Right now the front runner is the Lenovo X300, although it is a bit pricey for my tastes. This is mainly because of the SSD which I'm not sure I need (sure it saves battery but it's a $500 add-on). --- Brian On Wed, Sep 24, 2008 at 8:34 PM, DHSinclair <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Brian, > We have now hit a wall.
