OMG, it doesn't support an X2 card because of a BIOS update? That's frakked & I'd be screaming lemon law or something! Asus Rampage has me happy here.

NV is getting smart then since the Intel chipset it kicks their ass and the fake no SLI for for non-NV chipsets despite doing a custom setup for Intel was seriously shot-self-in-foot!

Still I'd be buying a 4870, likely X2 before I'd consider NV. Problems I've had with ATI turn out to be bad manufacturing flaws on Sapphire's part and a somehow damaged VisionTek model. I was cursing ATI drivers for VPU recovery error & stutters until I swapped the card. Heat likely culprit, so added a fan to bottom of case to improve air flow into the card cage area, a dead spot on the non-plus model TT Armor. :(

I have the same motherboard....unfortunatly, any bios after 12 does not support
the 4870x2 (no display, although PC functions normally otherwise). I am talking
to ABit about it but with their recent accouncements, I am not holding out much
hope of a BIOS with all the v13 and 14 fixes in plus 4870x2 support. I am not
sure if this issue extends to the normal 4870 card.

Also, nVidia made a recent announcement that it plans to drop the need for a
nVidia chipset to perform SLI....So motherboard chipset isn't as integral to
your graphics card choice anymore.
