OK. I have cpu mounted. Needs paste. The heat spreader is ~1.15in square
(E8400).
I look at the base of the supplied Nidec HS/Fan combo. The base pad of this
HS is a circular pad that measures ~1.12in.
I would not like to spread paste I do not need.
I have (in the past) always put the paste on the cpu heat
spreader! Looking back (P3 and AMD), I recall that the cpu was much
smaller than the HS interface! Hmmm. Now it is different.
Never-mind, I will spread the paste to the HS! This will be a first for me.
