Actually not so simple as it sounds..... Installed XP, fully upgraded and not noticing, stayed in administrator login as I installed programs. Some programs were smarter than others, the upshot is that when I did create a new user, despite that user being part of administrators, half the programs don't show up. Soooo, short of installing the programs over again, I've been laboriously logging in each time as administrator. Login screen only has new user, have to cntl-alt-del twice to get logged in as administrator. Would like to either figure a way to get the programs moved over to the new account or delete the new account.
Tried various things, no joy yet....any ideas? Thanks...Steve Lost 3 days on this new computer because I thought that I'd try Vista, mainly based on a newletter I get that had a whole article wondering why people are still bashing Vista because SP1 solved 'all' the problems. For me, Vista sucks. Many many reasons, most of which relate to the new philosophy behind the Vista interface. Plus, on the whole, the system felt slow, I found myself avoiding using it. I figured I could probably tweak it so that I'd use it, but why waste my time when I can just install XP?
