Okay, solved the problem. Somehow KMplayer seems to have lost it's settings, so going into options, changing random stuff, clicking OK, changing it back, seems to have worked.
I do have one odd artifact which I think began after the malware removal. Every once in a while, when emptying the recycle bin, explorer restarts, e.g. the screen goes black and then the taskbar reappears. When this happens, several of the systray icons disappear. Any ideas?
