Nothing fancy. Crimper...cable...RJ45 connectors...that's all you really need. I personally have never used (or really needed) a tester, but one could definitely come in handy. If you're just doing a couple cable runs, maybe not worth it. As Richard mentioned, just pick either the T568A or T568B cable layout and stick with it to avoid confusion (and avoid accidentally using differing layouts at each end of the cable). I don't know of any advantage to either one. Scott
