It's for a general purpose box, some media viewing, bit of light CUDA
fiddling (hence it's getting a GTS250 rather than a 4850)
It's actually for the same client that had the SFF we jokingly refer
to as "mediumfast" last October ( see http://maximumfast.net/
newbuild/ ), so this project is "Mini-Mediumfast", it'll be a bit down
on cpu and gpu grunt... (C2Q @ 3.2Ghz to C2Q at 2.33Ghz and 4870-1GB
to GTS250-1GB respectively) but not all that far down in the grand
scheme of things.
He's got me doing preliminary specifications for something we've given
the codename "Full Metal Cowbell" for sometime around mid May, and
that.... that is a PC with no punches pulled... or budget restrictions.
I have to say, I have mixed feelings about that, it'll be EPIC to
build and setup and go 'holy hell this this fast'
and then hugely depressing when I'm back on "only" a 3.8Ghz C2Q with
8GB of ram and an 8800GTX... and only platter based storage!
heh.
I'll probably be building a few Zotac/SG05 rigs, as a number of people
have gone "aww, it's soooooooo sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet", but only one has
the "wants an SSD + big platters + optical drive" awkwardness. :p

It's never ceases to amaze me what people try to cram into smaller
spaces. Assuming this is a for HTPC, not a game box?
Good luck & LOL!

Hey guys, I've got a client wanting a machine in a Silverstone SG05
case (

and the current leading candidate for the mainboard is the Zotac

being to cram
as much power as possible (with a bit of an eye toward value, he's
held off
on the 3Ghz core 2 Quad at least) into as small a space as possible.
