Lian Li has a replacement case, but you need to mount all the stuff into it,
which can be daunting for some.

Subject: [H] Microsoft's terrible heat management in XBOX360..

Ok, I spent the evening rebuilding our XBOX360. This makes basically the
second one I've had to recover from the stupid RROD.

The thing that kills me everytime I pull one of these f'ing things apart is how
absolutely disasterous Microsoft's cooling system for this thing is. If you
haven't seen the guts of the XBOX360, and you take a look, you almost wonder
how this thing doesn't blow up right off the bat.

There are of course options; at this point you can go grab something like a
Whisper fan set, etc. which helps - by replacing the rear internal fans. But
what really needs to happen is that at some point, someone should come out with
a complete replacement HSF solution for MS's piece of complete trash.

Last year, there was some talk about this from Thermalright, but it hasn't
appeared. I can grasp that MS is concerned that a solution that focused on a
CPU-fan setup could result in fan failure and instant machine death. But, the
rear fan assembly they currently use is not much better.. and as it starts,
it's a far worse cooling solution.

Just a rant.
