Okay, well I just tried that too, no joy. Still have to keep looking.
All the 'traditional' solutions don't work...

Okay, we're dealing with a relatively new install of WinXP, fully
patched, up to date.
On startup, the directory C:\Documents opens. (Note: NOT 'My
Documents'). It's only an annoyance, but more annoying because I have
been unable to find a solution.
I have tried going through every Startup directory on the machine,
user, default, admin, etc.
I have run msconfig and found nothing.
I used Startup.cpl and checked all run and runonce keys.
I've checked userinit.exe and winlogin in the registry.
So far I have found nothing. I don't know what I was doing to cause
it as I only saw it on boot-up over 24 hours later. The only clue I
have is that C:\Documents is a directory I created and use for Word
2007.
Any hints would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks....Steve
