If you want to make the whole "do extensions work with the new version" thing go away, just install the Nightly Tester Tools extension. Using that you can force install any extension in any version of FF. So far I have not run into any serious incompatibilities.
In 99% of the cases, extensions show up as incompatible simply because of a line of code in them that states which versions of Firefox they work with. So when a new version comes up they have to update that line of text with the new version number. Some extension makers have simply put in wildcards to get around this. There are occasional times when an update to Firefox conflicts with extensions, such as Google Gears when 3.5 first came out and some of the configuration extensions. But I haven't had any serious issues. --------------------------- Brian Weeden Technical Advisor Secure World Foundation <http://www.secureworldfoundation.org> +1 (514) 466-2756 Canada +1 (202) 683-8534 US On Wed, Jul 22, 2009 at 5:23 PM, Steve Tomporowski <[email protected]>wrote: > Sounds good.
