At present, I have "DNS Relay" disabled at my Router.
(DLink DGL-4300)

My router knows about the 2 ATT DNS addresses to use (thru the modem via bellsouth.net and att.net). I assume it does use these chosen DNS targets whenever one of my clients needs "DNS" services.

I have been researching "DNS Relay" on google all day. Hmm. Still confused. From what I read, anytime one of my clients needs "DNS" type service the client 1st goes to my "Gateway." My Gateway is my Router. But my Gateway/Router does NOT run DNS service that I can see.

DLink offers little help with the "DNS Relay" switch/selection. Is "DNS Relay" just a bounce-forward for/from my client - thru my Router - to 'some' ISP DNS server?

What happens if I change my clients to point to my 'Router/Gateway' for any/all DNS calls, AND, SELECT "DNS Relay" on my router?

It seems that I push more work upstairs where services exist, rather than churning around within my LAN where answers do not exist. And no, I do NOT use a Domain Server, yet!
Thank you,
Duncan
