I have 4 boxes: Nvidia card in one, AMD card in the other and the other 2 boxes are IGP Nvidia and AMD. The thing that irks me is that if you have an Nvidia card in your system then you are an Nvidia customer. But you get screwed by Nvidia if you also have an AMD card even though Windows 7 supports that feature. AMD is practically open source by comparison.

Stan,
With Jason's share and a bit of extra reading, I now fully understand the issue. It really is cheesy. But, in company's battles for supremacy, and the current economics, I am really surprised more of this marketing tit-4-tat is not present. I admire and applaude "GenL's" workaround. Yes, as I have seen so many times before, the users are caught in the middle. In any case, though I use nvidia cards and ATI cards, I don't believe I use PhysX logic at all. The last time I checked, PhysX logic is disabled. I'll watch how this new skirmish plays out.

The issue is that WinXP suported video cards from both camps in the same system, Vista did not and Windows7 does but Nvidia has disabled that capability with their drivers. What's wrong with having an AMD GPU driving your main 3D graphics and having an Nvidia GPU to handle the PhysX? Stupid shortsightedness by Nvidia and I hope it bites them on the arse!

Hi,
Read the petition. Do not understand; so, can not sign/help.
What is the "cause?" All I see is ATI vs. nVidia again.
Best,
Duncan

Hi,

I wanted to draw your attention to this important petition that I recently signed:

"Returning PhysX to Nvidia customers."

I really think this is an important cause, and I'd like to encourage you to add your signature, too. It's free and takes less than a minute of your time.

Thanks!
