Hey I would hope that someone here has run into this and knows the fix for it
(think I did it for WinXP but can't figure out how for the life of me! :P)...

So I've got a laptop from work; installed Win7EE 64-bit on it, replaced the HD
with a 80GB Intel G2 SSD, and am running Office 2010 64-bit too, so it's
blazingly fast! just a few secs to startup and login, and literally 2-3 to
shutdown from the moment I hit Shutdown...

Except for one thing: I went and added myself to the work domain (VPN'ed in and
had someone from IT with the administrator account log in and add me to the
domain). Now the problem is that when I log into my user account (domain\user
with password) it sits there thinking for a while, presumably b/c it can't
contact the PDC (Primary Domain Controller) for my domain and has to wait for
the timeout to expire...

I remember having this problem on my old computer with WinXP and I thought I
found a registry hack that would reduce or eliminate the timeout but I can't
find it for the life of me (and I've been googling for weeks). I did go
through and eliminate some startup scripts and other things that were trying to
reach WINS servers (which wouldn't work since I'm never locally on the network)
but that didn't really help...

Thoughts/ideas/solutions? I'd really like to get my startup/login time back
down again! Someone suggested removing myself from the domain, but I don't
think I want to do that (or does being on the domain not matter that much
anymore?). Thanks for any help!
