I mean using your laptop screen and a second monitor independently. The person I am trying to help has a widescreen HP that is a little more then one year old running Windows 7 Ultimate and all it will let me do is run as a clone or as an expanded screen... not as two separate monitors = built in screen + external but independently.

Do you mean two external monitors, or the built-in screen + external? I haven't seen any modern laptops with video out that didn't support using it as a second (non-cloned) monitor. If the former, any Dell D series or E series Latitude laptops with a dock will support two external monitors. > -----Original Message----- > From: [email protected] [mailto:hardware- > [email protected]] On Behalf Of Winterlight > Sent: Tuesday, August 31, 2010 11:12 PM > To: [email protected] > Subject: [H] dual monitor laptop > > Just about any laptop will allow you to clone it's monitor to an external > monitor but will any of them allow you to run dual seperate monitor in > windows 7?
