I was on the right track just made 2 errors that correcting solved everything. First off, the video and audio streams must be stitched back together after Clown_BD is finished (I use mkvmerge) and the audio must be converted because if it's unprocessed as a .wav file it can quickly exceed the 4 gigabyte file size limit and the audio will cut out part way through the movie or there won't be any at all. I've been converting mine to AC3 and it sounds great. There are other details to successfully convert my HD-DVD's but that's the gist of it and I'm half way through my collection now. I'm converting Blade Runner (from the 5 disk collectors edition) to iso as I write this and curious if the complexity of multiple versions will prevent me from success. Next, I'll reduce the ~ 20 gigabyte file size of my converted movies to 4 gigs or so using Handbrake. If you have any suggestions for any of this I'd appreciate benefit of your experience on the back channel if you like. Thanks for asking..

Hey guys, I've been trying to convert my old HD-DVD movies to disk and
convert to .mkv h.261 or something just so I can play them back without
having to buy expensive software to watch. I can use Demon Tools Lite or
Any DVD HD to rip to .iso but I'm stuck figuring out where to go from
there. Handbrake, Clown_BD, instructions I've followed on the net don't
seem to work for me. Anybody with experience ripping HD movies and
converting them to Media Player Classic or VLC point me in the right
direction?
