I just lived thru a loss of internet. Don't know why for sure, but post local TS, I suspect it is time for a new router. Current router is DLink DGL-4500 with its' wireless function disabled.
I run a wired 10base1000 network in my home. No wireless/WIFI allowed.

I called my local ISP (EPB Electric Svcs) tier 1 service. T1 confirmed that the internet was alive and that their fiber network was happy. Fine. T1 walked me back through everything I had already done. T1 indicated that they 'saw' my MAC address (confirmed) and, that they saw no aberrant behavior on
my end (between my ONT and my router). OK.
So I asked T1 for their choice of a router!
T1 asked if I was Linux-capable. Said NO.
T1 suggested I look at a Netgear WNR3500L, and, T1 sent me a link to newegg.com. Fine. The link is:

Fine. This router (in link) is primarily for wireless. After reading the UM, I find it has a button to disable wireless/wifi. OK. Dang! It costs ~half what I paid for my current DLink DGL-4500! No harm, no foul.

Seeking opinions, suggestions, favs/raves.
Thank you,
Duncan
