I just finished about 10 days without Internet access because my router
(DLink dgl-4500) was going bad, and/or
just failed. I did try my spare router (DLink dgl-4300), but it was not
up to my current fiber technology, or, it also
was dead....................
So I followed my ISP's rec and got a pair of N300 Netgear wnr-3500L(v2)
routers. The new N300 router is installed
and fully working (with wireless disabled!). I have Internet/email/LAN
again. Sort of.
I am beginning to suspect my pair of Dell Power Connect 2716 switches
(16 port). They are now 4+ years old. So, I am now
shopping replacements. A trip to newegg.com and I find:
TP-Link TL-SG1016, $69.99, N82E16833704023
Buffalo BS-G2116U, $98.99, N82E16833162063
Netgear GS116 (wall-wort), $134.99, N82E3122139
Cisco SG100-16-NA, $162.00, N82E3150154
AND SO NOW, I seek opinions, suggestions, recs, pro/con from the List!
Please have at it!
Best,
Duncan
