FP,
You know, I am beginning to move to your camp. The two I got are one for replacement, and, one for new install. On batteries, I get it. APC remains too proud of their batteries. Yes, I know of other sources (since 1997), still, I've only had two ups's continue on post battery replacement. Yes, I run hdw to death (its' death). I would just love to keep replacing batteries, but I do not see this yet. Maybe one day. Not yet.
Thanks for your thoughts, Bro!

no experience with those but I just had two cyber power die. I just buy new assuming the tech is better. One still worked on the surge side, the other just died completely. Seems like every three years or so. Gave up replacing batteries along time ago. For me not cost effective. JMO

Does anyone have any negative comments on the BR1500G UPS?
I ordered a pair. Big $$$. I need to replace an APC XS1500USB UPS that seems to have gone away---The APC PowerChute icon now shows a yellowtrianble w/Exclamation point. And, the ups will not do a 'self-test.' This tells me some sort of internal trouble. Besides, this old ups was made in India. No I'm not a biggot! I was just surprised back in 2006 when I got it and put it to work. Yes, the batteries were replaced in 2009. Now it is 2013 (late) and I could suppose it may be time for new batteries. FINE! I will do this(and make this ups a house spare).
But, I ordered a BR1500G as a replacement! My choice.

So, any negative opinions about the APC BR1500G ups?
Thanks,
Duncan
