Thanks Greg,
This chipset business is getting difficult. Sorry to be so uninformed. Yes, I believe I focused on Ivey Bridge and/or Sandy Bridge.
Haswell was still a dream away. Broadwell? OMG!
Thanks, I will truck on.

Nothing wrong with them. The Z87 chipset is for Haswell processors using the
LGA1150 socket. Your Z77 is for Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge processors using
the LGA1155 socket. New Z97 boards are due out soon for the Haswell Refresh
(and Broadwell?) chips.

Subject: [H] What happened to the Asus Z77 chipset m/b????

Is there something broken in my 4 not yet installed Asus Z77 chipset m/b's?
I look around the web and see that Asus is now selling Z87 chipset m/b's.
Does anyone have a clue about differences between the Z77 vs. Z87 chipset?
Yes, I still plan to build/use my Z77 m/b's.
Thanks,
Duncan
