I just searched with google & read forums just like our list. Maybe, it was a "freak" incident. Since it's my first & I read what I read - I came to the conclusions I did. I move disks all the time also. MBR's - this was my first GPT & this "freak" incident happened. Regardless, it may be worth take the minute to do the unmount/removal before someone gets another "freak" incident. I certainly have spent more than 1 minute with the aftermath!
