The 4s charger will provide 1A @ 5v. Just go on Amazon, look up the charger, and make sure it matches. Should work as most usb chargers work at 5V.... The current output can be more, the same, or less than 1A. Typically, it is the iDevice that refuses to charge if it doesn't see an apple charger. But the chargers don't care what is on the other end. The kindles come without chargers because most people already have suitable chargers.
