[H] PC to Android phone

[Winterlight]

I am use to Windows Phones. To connect to any PC you just plug it 
into a USB jack and you have access to both internal and external 
storage. I also own a Moto G 2nd Generation. It has the latest 
version of Android on it. When I plug it in to a PC USB port I can 
see it  as XT104 but nothing is there, and I can't create a folder. 
Do I have to install drivers or something to work with it on a PC? thanks
