[H] fingerprint reader

[Winterlight]

I have Thinkpad and it has a fingerprint reader. OS is latest version 
of Win10.  I can setup the fingerprints in Win 10 for logging in 
without any difficulty.  However, when I try to log in using the 
fingerprint reader it almost never works = 99 percent of the time I 
have to use my code. It can't be a hardware problem or it wouldn't 
set up so easily... right?

 The obvious stuff I have tried .. like trying a different finger, 
doing careful swipes, removing, and reinstalling the fingerprint 
device.  Any ideas? Thanks
