Of course, and the system boots right up. I can also pop the drive in an extended enclosure and it sounds up and is recognized.
But I can't boot with the drive attached, which means I can't run any tools on it to try and see if I can fix it. It just seems weird that it won't boot with a bad non-OS drive.
