Like you I was using pop severs and they just stopped. So maybe a month ago I tried Imap which I do not like as Outlook sets up its own data for every separate address but it worked.
I use a NORDVPN and it cause problems for gmail so since gmail is not my main email I only check gmail couple times a week after I turn off NORVPN.
