I bought a new Season 3 of Fortitude Blu-ray disk from a seller in the UK.
The season hasn't made it here yet. I have done this before and never had a
problem playing a region 2 disk. The disk arrived but I can not play it on
either my Panasonic BluRayDisk player nor my computers Pioneer BD-RW BDR-209D.
The computer can read the drive but when I try to play with VLC I get the
error message >>

Your input can't be opened
VLC is unable to open the MRL
check the log

here is the log>>

I tried changing the region code of the Pioneer to the UK = 2 but the Pioneer
won't let me because it says I need to put a Region 2 into the drive ...so it
isn't a region issue and it is suppose to be region 2

Also I see a red circle on the cover with the number 18 in it so I looked that
up >>>
DVD 18 replication is a double-sided, dual layer disc. It is referred to as
17.0GB media which holds about 15.9 computer GB (over 8 hours of audio and
video). With the advent of Blu-ray technology, DVD 18 has generally become
obsolete.

A obsolete recording method? I am starting to think I have some kind of
homemade counterfeit disk ... what does the collective think?
