The problem with getting more capacity than you use is that the PSU won't operate at it's peak efficiency so you waste power. My game box has 5 hardrives a Phenom II X2 555 overclocked to 3.825 GHz, a Radeon HD 5770 running on a Seasonic 550 watt PSU like a Swiss watch..

While I was seriously tempted I ordered a Seasonic X750. If Newegg had the X850 I would have got that. Overkill on power, u bet. I figure the easier it runs under load the quieter it is with less heat. I seem to always want to kick these up a notch on new buys for future needs but things seem to have reached a plateau No SLI or Crossfire in my future. Not that hard a gamer anymore but system has 4 hard drives, 2 optical drives, 1gb video (GTX460) and Quad cpu. (Q9650)

Might try a Nexus in my next customer build. Actually Looked ay the Lian-Li PSU's (looked good) but were too noisy on the fans. They build kick ass cases though. Building a PC-B25B right now. Hope to be very quiet box. ( the plan anyway) Hope not to have to change out the stock fans.

Never heard of it and never read a review of it. 3D Gameman isn't totally
incompetent and Nvidia recommends it. It's 80 plus efficient, Active PFC
and modular good looks would greatly tempt me if I weren't so attached to Seasonic. Personally, I'd buy it if it meets your needs but I have to say
that 850 watts is way more than you probably need for the life of your
build. Planning on triple SLI or Crossfire? :D

Anyone have any experience with this brand ?
Been looking at Seasonic, PCP&C and OCZ and thermaltake. Most of these
claim low noise but reviews say otherwise.
Hope to go gold or platinum cert
