The Kindle might be called a specialized, small slate, but I consider
anything like that (Kindle, iPad, etc) a slate. I'm really looking forward
to one running a real operating system. I have a nice laptop, but never use
it due to the bulk. I want to keep a slate device next to my couch, and/or
next to my bed, so I always have a nice, fully-functional computer near me
if I need one. I use my phones (Samsung Epic 4G and iPhone 4) for it now,
but they're just too small and limiting, and I don't want a hinged device
like a netbook.
