A useful tip but it doesn't seem to be relevant here since some of my
replies are coming back to me. This is what makes me wonder if I'm being
filtered because of my sometimes controversial views.

There is list setting to control whether you get your own replies or
not. I suggest you "toggle" that setting to see if that produces a
desirable change.
