the cameras will be no problem as will the modem and the router, the only thing that could be a problem would be a DVR, if you are using one. You might want to invest in some home automation as well, so you can turn the power off, and on, like it would be if it were unplugged, if you need to reset a particular device. Just rebooting is not allways enough.

will only ever be utilizing it via a remote session in Seattle.

The modem and router will be the big issue there. I would check user experience over time on the cameras you want to use.

I don't want something that will die quickly when I am away.

I don't think anything name brand (inside), even X10, would do that but if you aren't going to heat the house I would ask the component manufactures about those temperatures.
