I backup my /steamapps folder to another hardrive for protection. I don't
own very many games but re-downloading 22 gigabytes of data takes a long
time and it's much easier to copy the folder over to a fresh install of
steam. I guess if you had Verison FIOS it wouldn't be a big deal..
