And then you have to decide if you can trust your data on someone else's

I rather agree. I've dealt with a lot of backup software that just
doesn't work properly. The one that has been best for me as been
Retrospect. I'm now looking for software that will back up to the
cloud, but that seem tricky to find a good one as well.
