Thanks for the insight. I forgot to mention that I was able to place a
JMicron add-in SATA II card in the ASUS P6T6 without issue. It does seem to
be the Sil 3132 that is the problem child. I will look into the firmware
aspect. As far as the ASUS, I have read lots of issues in their forum
regarding add-on cards, but some report success with some hardware RAID
cards. The search continues.

with that card, but the Silicon Image 3132 (I have several myself) seems to
have a very, very overweight option ROM. I want to say that some of the
newer firmwares for it have helped, though. If you can find a board that it
will boot with it successfully, you might try updating to the latest
firmware and see if it helps.
