I had my newer computer running while I was on the other, looked over
and saw it had a blank screen. I though maybe it went to sleep/suspend
whatever, but the keyboard and mouse did nothing and I noticed no
lights on the computer. Pushing the reset/Power buttons yielded
nothing. I started thinking overheated power supply. I turned it off
and waited. Turned on, but there were no lights on the MB. No power
period. Since it was on a UPS, I got out the multimeter and tested the
outlet, looked fine. I don't know why I tried this, but I tested the
line cord and got a reading of 50 Volts. Ohm'ed out, the cable looked
good. Put in a new cord and now all is fine. I just had a line cord
fail right under my nose, in one instant. Strange.
