Is this a personal machine, or work-issued? If an employee wanted to join once of their personal machines to my work domain, I'd tell them to go F....pound sand. If someone came and asked me to take their work-issued machine off the domain, I'd give the same response. I'd also be very tempted to file an HR/AUP violation issue over it if they tried some of the things you've already discussed, too.
