The Bottom Line
Dragon Age 2 offers fast paced action-adventure role-playing with visual
splendor courtesy of DirectX 11. It generally performs well, but it is one
of the more demanding games in circulation today. Right now, you will get
the best Dragon Age 2 experience on an AMD Radeon HD 6000 series video
card. Until NVIDIA and/or BioWare fix the issue plaguing the GeForce GTX
500 series of video cards, it is hard to recommend them as an upgrade path
if Dragon Age 2 is a serious consideration.
For those with large format monitors or Eyefinity installations, the AMD
Radeon HD 6970 is a good starting point. Mid-sized single display users
should be well-served by a AMD Radeon HD 6950. Gamers with smaller
monitors or smaller budgets can look to the AMD Radeon HD 6870 for their
collective Dragon Age 2 fix.
