My HTPC/TV gaming computer has a GeForce 8800GT that is on the fritz. It's an older and lame computer (but one that I've upgraded almost all components)--Dell with Q6600, 4gb ram, etc.
I'm sure if I buy a good graphics card today I will be severely CPU+bus bound, but I am planning on eventually upgrading the rest of the computer and so would like to get a graphics card that will be good for a couple of years. Want to be ready for the new Elder Scrolls! I'm currently looking at the GTX 560 Ti or at ATI 9650 2gb. Both comparable price (low $200s), both seem very similar performance wise. Any opinions?
