Duncan,

Thanks for heads up. I know about the curing time and took that into
account. My initial post was about the difference between the CPU temps and
the ambient room temps of the setup with the AS Ceramique. The Ceramique has
a much quicker curing time (25 hours) and I had been using the system for
several weeks. I did see a small drop in temperatures over time as the
material cured, but it was only 2-5 degrees (and it could have been due to
ambient temperature changes as much as curing of the material).

In general, I just felt that a water cooled system should exhibit near
ambient temperatures at idle, which several responses indicate was not a
false hope.

It could just be the luck of the draw on the processor I received. I have
read many reviews/observations on the i920. Some indicate low temps on air
and the ability to oc in the 4 GHz range, still on air. Other complain that
even with high capacity coolers, their temps run hot.

And I don't know if this is a valid observation, but I have one core that
runs 5 degrees C lower than the hottest core.

I am brand new to water cooling, so my knowledge is not that much greater
than yours. Perhaps I was just overly optimistic. :)

Jim
