That will depend on what your particular TV supports. My Panasonic
Vera TV allows me access to certain web sites like Pandora, or Amazon
video, and particular Panasonic cameras, and I can update the BIOS,
but I don't get to browse the internet.
In order to use your TV to browse you would use a HDMI port to plug
your computer in, and then clone your desktop. Or I guess Logitech
makes a device that allows you to browse. To play media you can buy a
media player with network support like WD Live! which will allow you
to access files on your network shares = audio, 1080p video, and
pictures, as well as internet access to specific sites, and maybe a
few onboard games. A WD Live Plus costs less the 100 bucks and is
worth every penny if you create your own content.

Hey,
I have a non-networked Samsung TV. What are some of my options and relative
costs for streaming video (and maybe music) from my pc? I have a Gigabit
network connection at my TV.
Thanks,
