Saw that the other day, but didn't think to post it. Of course, Samsung's
HDD unit has been bought by Seagate, and Hitachi by WD, so soon there will
just be two players.

I really found the SSD rates more interesting:

- Intel 0.1% (as against 0.3%)
- Crucial 0.8% (as against 1.9%)
- Corsair 2.9% (as against 2.7%)
- OCZ 4.2% (as against 3.5%)
(the part in parens() was the return rate in the same study published in
May)

So basically, there is quantitative evidence that SSDs are significantly
more reliable than their magnetic counterparts, but only for those based on
Intel (Intel) or Marvell (Crucial) controllers. Corsair and OCZ use
Sandforce and Indilinx controllers, which while unquestionably performant,
are garbage in terms of reliability.
