So, I dug around under-the-hood of ThunderBird this past weekend. Found what I believe may answer 'WHY' I continue to SEE odd remnants in my /Local Folders/ (left side of my opening window).
I go to c:\d&s\User\App Data\TBird\Profiles\#.default\mail\ Here I see: Local Folders [folder] 11-29-2011 pop.att.yahoo.com[folder] 09-28-2010 *** pop.epbfi-1.com[folder] 09-17-2010 *** pop.epbfi.com[folder] 12-04-2011 smart mailboxes[folder] 10-17-2010 *** Drafts Drafts.msf Sent Sent.msf I go and view the 1st two folders above. I see icons I can read in wordpad. I THINK I can just delete these 2 (***) folders and clean up a large amount of really OLD email. Yes, I am still looking at the contents. Yes, I realize I may loose some OLD email. I do not comprehend the 'smart mailboxes' folder yet. No action planned. Am I on the right track (visually)? best, Duncan
