A classmate really messed up his 32GB flash drive. Hardware seems
intact, my Mac believes it is an intact drive with fubared file
system and/or data. I told him it was beyond my expertise, since it is.
He took it to Best Buy. They sent it to an outside vendor. Some days
later, quoted him $1,600 for data recovery. Does this make sense?
Seems high to me.
I've seen $800 to $1500. Not sure if I'd use whomever the geniuses
at BestBuy sent it to - birds of a feather and all that.
