Just recently started playing some games again ( for grins)
Duke Nukem Forever and RAGE (Steam)
Getting all kinds of artifacts and in rage the screen goes completely
wacko. In Nukem a minimize and restore usually fixes the artifacts,
not in RAGE.
GPU is a GTX 460 1gb GDDR5 CPU is a Core 2 Quad 9650 with 4gb memory in XP.
I suspect XP and Direct X 9 may be the problem. Older games play
fine. A reboot fixes the bug short run.
Fans are running fine. Anything to tweak ? Turned off write
combining. Has to be something to tweak. If I need a new GPU no
problem but I may need to finally update THIS box to 7. Both shop
boxes are running W7. A lot of older SW I use almost daily here is
why I am dragging my feet. Dual boot may be a option.
