Hi Greg, I actually just hooked it up today (not in shelf) to test speakers and all. It is warmish, not hot. How much room is between your DVR and receiver?
I was going to look for a quieter fan, I was just showing the kind of fan I was looking at. I actually think I might need to elevate the fan and have it blow straight across the unit. The problem is that when I ordered it, I was thinking that the area where the receiver is to go had enough room. The measurement that I was thinking about was to the top of the shelf that the tv is sitting on and not to the bottom of the shelf. What I have ended up with is that the shelf above the receiver is only ½ above the top of the receiver. I do not think that ½ is really a sufficient clearance amount to allow proper cooling.
