Generally the headache of running a new cable.   Depending on the
building, adding cabling can be less then easy.

We used to have a few of them in use to increase the utilization of some
of our floor cross connect cables.   We then moved to multi vlan and
multi gigabit trunks, and just split it off that way, this was ~6-8
years ago when I still worked for the University of Arizona.
